The National Disability Insurance
Scheme (NDIS) rolls out in this region in October 2017. This means that there will be a significant change to the way that services are funded for
people with disabilities. We will move from services that are funded “up front” by the State Government to a payment following service model and this
will mean an increase in people’s choice and control over the services that they need to access.
Mpower is pleased to announce the appointment of Louise Jellie to the new position of NDIS Services Manager for the Agency.
Louise has previously held the position of Early Childhood Intervention Service (ECIS) Manager and brings experience gained over her 28 year career providing Speech Pathology for children and adults with disabilities and Early Childhood Intervention. Louise has recently focussed her work on building an understanding of the new funding model and what that will mean for families and people who would like to use Mpower as their service provider under the new scheme. Louise will commence in the new position in January 2017. We look forward to Louise sharing her learning with us in the future as we all make the step together into the new scheme. Keep an eye out for NDIS tips and information in this newsletter each month.
